Kathryn L. Harrison joined the firm as an associate in 2010. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Harrison served as a law clerk to the Honorable Maurice B. Cohill, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. In addition to clerking for Judge Cohill, Ms. Harrison served as a clerk to the entire Western District, completing assignments for each of the District Court Judges. Her experience in the Court included work on both criminal and civil matters, with significant experience in insurance coverage, civil rights, employment and labor and various commercial matters.
Ms. Harrison graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in 2008. During her time at Duquesne, she was a member of the Business Law Journal, served as research assistant to Dean Emeritus of the Law School, Dr. Nicholas Cafardi, and completed an externship with the Honorable Nora Barry Fischer in the District Court. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Ms. Harrison is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations, as well as the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania.
A 2004 graduate of Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN), Ms. Harrison was the recipient of the Lumen Christi Award, the school’s highest honor upon graduation. She is an active member of the Pittsburgh area Saint Mary’s Alumnae Club. A native of Butler, PA, Ms. Harrison now resides in Pittsburgh. She is active with several local charitable organizations, particularly those focused on homelessness and hunger in the Pittsburgh area. She sits on the Board of Directors of the YWCA of Butler County and currently serves as its secretary. Ms. Harrison also regularly serves as a judge for local mock trial teams and competitions, including for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and regional high schools.
