Sara Davis Buss focuses her practice on infrastructure and non-profit and economic development financing, with an emphasis on general obligation and revenue bond issues, tax increment and other special tax-backed bonds, municipal leases, taxable and tax-exempt bank loans, public-private partnerships and other secured financings.
Recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer by Law and Politics and named one of the top women attorneys in her field by Pennsylvania Law Weekly, Ms. Davis Buss has received an AV rating, signifying the highest level of professional excellence by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review. Ms. Davis Buss, who was honored as one of the 25 Top Women Leaders in Business by the Pittsburgh Business Times, received her B.S. from the University of Wisconsin in 1976 and her J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1982.
A member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Association of Bond Lawyers, where she served as President, Ms. Davis Buss is a frequent lecturer on municipal finance and has published articles about tax increment and private activity bond financings. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers Bond Attorneys Workshop steering committee.
Ms. Davis Buss is active as a community leader, serving as a member of the Allegheny County Human Relations Commission, the vice president of the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh, and as a member of the board of directors of the Greater Pittsburgh YMCA. She also served as treasurer of the Sports and Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County and as chairperson for the Mt. Lebanon Economic Development Council.
Ms. Davis Buss is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
